Google has been offering a Chinese map of Shanghai for quite some time. Not at maps.google.com but at ditu.google.com. Ditu, 地图, is the Chinese expression for map.
Now I stumbled upon a new, English one:
It doesn’t only show the public transportation but also restaurants, banks, cinemas, theaters, … Here an example of the area around Nanjing Lu:
But the most beautiful maps of Shanghai come from edushi (E都市, E-City):
Bund, Pudong and Old City (lower left)
Hongkou Stadium and Lu Xun Park
They have already covered many Chinese Cities and seem to want more.
So why Yahoo, why, why, why don’t you make maps, buy maps or allow the use of one of the above mentioned ones in flickr?
“It is a good chair, it was made in Japan and was used in German in 1997.”
A friend is on the phone. She found a doctor with an “electric chair” that can “heal my sick”. She tried to sit on it and it is “very comfortable” and “a very good chair”. It can “clean our blood”. And it is free.
When you sit on the chair you have “no other feelings”. Today she saw “many, many people sit on the chair, they all say it is very comfortable.” The doctor is in a hospital but “this chair not in a hospital”, outside the hospital in something “like a store”.
“The doctor says it is good for our health and will heal your sick”. I’ll give it a try.
On the way back from Century Park to the Shanghai Science and Technology Museum (the building on the left). The picture shows the opposite direction of the stairs to the Century Park entrance. It was taken from the same point.
My kite
You have to pay 10 Yuan (about 1 Euro) to get into Shanghai’s largest park and can’t walk around in the evening because it closes at 6 pm.

I mentioned before that I’m not a fan of these markets. This was the only interesting thing I found. Perhaps I’ll get one.
Shanghai Stock Exchange (It’s not a magic world just an imperfect stitched image.)
Construction site of the World Financial Center
Jin Mao Tower
Ask a question and you’ll get an answer. That’s how it works here. Many answers are wrong. This time I was sent to the 18th and 24th floor. The right one was the 31st…
Every tower should have one.
My troubling joints led me to Shanghai East International Medical Center in Pudong. I felt been well looked after although I had thought they’d x-ray or do a sonography. According to the doctor the problems might be caused by a virus and should vanish at most six weeks after they began. Let’s hope so.
I don’t know what Tongji has to do with the hospital.
The Shanghai East International Medical Center is only one section of a much larger hospital.
I’ve never been a fan of the Oriental Pearl Tower on all those Shanghai postcards but standing under the gigantic spheres is an experience. I think I’ll go up to the viewpoint one day. By now, I really like the thing. The lights on the spheres change their color. Pretty awesome.
“Little animals”. The show was closed so we’ll try again another day.
The Bund was not illuminated but you can see a boat with a large screen. According to others it’s driving up and down the river all the time.
Pudong seen from the riverside. You can see the World Financial Center in the background.
Prohibitions and Oriental Pearl Tower.
